out the statement that says the six-time all-star will step聽away from the game
for good due to continuous concussion symptoms. His medical team suggested to
the future Hall-of-Famer that he would be at risk of further brain damage if he
continued playing. The Brampton, Ontario native suffered a concussion at the end
of March last season which caused him to miss the remaining
regular-season聽matchups with the Boston Bruins. He did, however, return for all
12 of the Bruins playoff games.advertisingStatement on behalf of client Rick
Nash:— Top Shelf Hockey (@Topshelf_TSSM) January 11,
2019Nash then later announced this past June that he wouldn't be seeking any
contract offers, while he's still in recovery from his concussion despite
reportedly having eight teams interested in his services on a multi-year
contract, that would have paid him in the double-figures per season. The
34-year-old likely still could have played for another couple of seasons if it
weren't for this concussion that has ended his professional career. In 71 games
last season鈥攕plit between the Rangers and the Bruins鈥攈e produced 21 goals, 34
points along with two game-winning goals as well.advertisingDespite
those聽relatively strong numbers, the decline had definitely been setting in for
Nash over the last three seasons ,
most notably beginning after the 2014/15 season. Following that year鈥攚here he
recorded 42 goals and 69 points鈥攈e went three straight seasons of failing to
record more than 40 points each season. SportsnetYet, even with this decline, he
was still capable of being a productive player for any team in the NHL. So, Nash
will be a very qualified candidate for when he's first eligible to be elected
into the Hall-of-Fame.Nash was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets first
overall back in 2002. During his 15-seasons in the league, he totaled 437 goals
and 805 points in 1,060 games.advertisingHe also shared the聽Rocket Richard
Trophy during the 2003/04 season with Jarome Iginla and Ilya Kovalchuk聽for
scoring the most goals in a season, when they each hit 41 goals. Not to mention
the two gold medals he won with Team Canada during the 2010 and 2014
Olympics.Nash will be remembered for all these great accomplishments that he
achieved. But, also as one of the many players that had their careers cut short
due to concussions.Nash's retirement comes as a surprise, as it seemed that he
would be able to recover from this concussion and return to the ice. But
unfortunately Authentic

, that will not be the
case.advertisingStill, it will be very likely that he becomes a first-ballot
Hall-of-Famer when he's first eligible. He had so many great seasons with the
Blue Jackets and the Rangers over the years, which is why it's so saddening to
watch him hang up his skates for good this time. GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Already
down a goalie, the New Jersey Devils watched MacKenzie Blackwood leave in the
first period with a lower-body injury.Keith Kinkaid filled in nicely for someone
who hadn’t played in four games.Kinkaid stopped 21 shots and had two saves in a
shootout, lifting the New Jersey Devils to a 3-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes on
Friday night.“It was nice to see Keith come in and he was strong for us,” Devils
coach John Hynes said. “He got better and better as the game went on.”Kinkaid
started the season as New Jersey’s No. 1 goalie, but the Devils have been riding
Blackwood’s recent success with Cory Schneider out.Blackwood, making his seventh
start in nine games seemed to tweak his leg midway through the first period and
was replaced by Kinkaid late. Kinkaid gave up goals to Conor Garland and

who have won four of six.In regulation, New Jersey’s Nico Hischier scored his
11th goal on a shot that didn’t go into the net and Blake Coleman had his 12th
of the season.“It was a good effort,” Stafford said. “It wasn’t the prettiest
game, but we found a way.”Arizona’s Darcy Kuemper made a pair of spectacular
saves in overtime, swiping a puck out of the crease after it trickled through on
one, snatching another shot from a seated position on another. He allowed goals
on the two shots he faced in the shootout and finished with 33 saves. The
injury-depleted Coyotes went 0 for 5 on the power play, including a lengthy 5 on

, six regulars out, I hate to keep saying it,”
Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said. “We worked hard, but you could tell the skill
level wasn’t there sometimes. We’re just grinding away.”The Devils scored a goal
1:05 into the game that never actually went into the net.New Jersey had a 2-on-1
after an Arizona neutral-zone turnover and Kyle Palmieri fed the puck to
Hischier. Kuemper got a piece of Hischier’s shot and the puck shot in the air
just as Arizona forward Clayton Keller crashed into the goal, dislodging it.
Initially called no goal, the officials awarded it to Hischier upon review,
ruling the puck would have gone in had Keller not knocked the goal off its
moorings.“The puck was in the air, so I don’t think you can assume it wasn’t
going to hit the top of the net,” Tocchet said. “It went to Toronto. I don’t
know.”Garland tied it late in the first period Jonathan
